Happy holidays

Fri Jan 5, 2007, 7:30 AM
Where should I start... hmm.

First off, I recently sort of broke up with my girlfriend (or I guess she should've been referred to as "common-law wife") Laura. Sort of? Well, this is where the groove begins. We actually moved in to a new apartment around a week before deciding we break up, so we're more like roomates now. Since we don't hate each other, but merely want some distance, this solution seems quite fitting for us. Some friends of mine are also friends of Laura's nowadays, and the other way around. We still hang out, but not in any romantic sense. We're both allowed to see other girls/boys, establish new relationships and so forth. Thus, perhaps the only thing that differs this situation from a kind of 'normal' breaking up is that I'm currently not allowed to take my possible new girlfriends (or boyfriends) to our place, parties where Laura might be etc. This is not because Laura would want to restict me from establishing a new relationship, but rather for the simple fact that she hasn't got completely over this all yet. Sure, I technically could invite anyone to my place, introduce her/him to Laura and so forth, but Laura wouldn't like it, and I don't want to hurt her feelings. After Laura leaves to Britain in spring and gets to spend an independent year there, I'll have plenty of time dating people, so I'm not complaining.

To sum up, although I broke up after more than two years with Laura, it wasn't exactly bad news to me, but rather just a change in my life. But even if that wasn't the bad news, here come the good ones. :)

I'm still studying interactivity design in the polytechnic. It's been mostly web design for now, but I'm cool with it since I studied XHTML, CSS and stuff independently already before going to the school. It's somewhat weird going to school and for the first time in my life realising that I actually enjoy studying there. I hope it lasts. I've made some very nice friends there already, and I think I'll be meeting and getting to know more of them throughout my studies. Getting new contacts is always fun (even though I have perfectly good vision).

I've never been so hilarious in my life. Okay, now for the holiday part you've eagerly been waiting for.

My X-mas holiday has supposedly been the greatest holiday I've ever spent in my entire life. No, really, I'm not kidding. I've been able to meet a great deal of friends, people I haven't seen in a long time, relatives and so forth. As you know, I live in Tampere, which is about 160 kilometres (100 miles) from Turku, which is about 16 kilometres from Naantali where I used to live. Thus, every time I get to Naantali, I'm urging to see people I don't usually see anymore but who I used to see almost every day when I was living here. I also got to arrange meetings with my friend Mari who I haven't seen in a long time (she's studying in Helsinki, which is the capital of Finland and about 180 kilometres from Tampere and 160 kilometres from Turku). Then, I met a bunch of new people my dear friend Tuomas introduced me to, and they were very friendly. Then, we celebrated the New Year and I had a very good time meeting yet more of my old pals. On wednesday, we gathered to a friend's place, watched movies (Clockwork Orange and Finding Nemo) and had fun. Yesterday, a group of three of my good friends and myself gathered together and played some console games we used to play when we were like, ten years old, and man, was that nostalgic or what. Nintendo 64's GoldenEye 007, Mario Tennis, Smash Bros... And right now, I'm starting to make haste for a party at my friend's place, where we celebrate because the friend has just finished army service.

Friends are like the most bestly awesomest thing on these multi-universes.

No problem, I thought it was a really rad way to recycle a cd! Make it into art! I've already tried it about 4 times, sept I'm no artist, so its not working so well!!!

All life is beautiful and sacred, excepting when its your own life. Then, of course, it sucks.
